One of our visitors sent us an image of a mystery castle or tower house that we cannot identify and we would be grateful if anyone could help and get in touch with any suggestions where it might be located.
The building is depicted in an early 19th-century landscape painting, probably in Scotland, as the painting is very much in the manner of the Alexander Nasmyth school.
The building sits on a bluff overlooking a river or small loch. It is a bit odd looking, with what seems to be a round tower over a square base, then an outer wall but very close.
There seems to be a house or mansion behind, possibly attached.
